A street near the busy Braehead Shopping Centre has reportedly been sealed off, with forensic tents set up.

A heavy police presence was spotted this morning on the Kings Inch Road, with the road cordoned off.

Social media users also report small forensic tents being set up along the road.

A police spokesman later said: "Extensive police enquiries are continuing after a firearm was discharged at the window of a flat in Kenley Road, Renfrew, at around 23.50 hours on Thursday 23 November 2017.

"No one was injured, however officers believe that this address was the intended target with officers following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident.

"Uniform and plain clothes patrols have been stepped up in the area to reassure the local community.

"Anyone with information that will assist the ongoing investigation, in particular if you saw anyone acting suspiciously or any vehicles driving off at speed, contact the Major Investigation Team (West) through 101 quoting reference number 4029 of 23 November."
