Do UAE residents need a visa for Singapore?

UAE residents can travel to Singapore without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. However, expats of certain nationalities mentioned below residing in the UAE must apply for a tourist visa to visit Singapore from their resident country. It’s worth noting that travelers holding temporary passports issued by the United Arab Emirates will require a Singapore visa.

In addition, citizens of the following countries need a valid Singapore visa to enter the country:

  • a refugee travel document. This travel document is subject to an assessment of recognition for entry into Singapore
  • an alien’s passport. This travel document is subject to an assessment of recognition for entry into Singapore
  • a Palestinian Authority passport
  • a temporary passport issued by the United Arab Emirates
  • a document of Identity issued by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
  • a travel permit issued by Macao Special Administrative Region

Singapore visa for UAE residents general requirements

All foreign residents in the UAE who hold passports from countries not eligible for visa-free entry into Singapore are required to apply for a relevant Singapore visa and submit the following documents:

  • a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity
  • a completed and signed visa application form 14A
  • a Letter of Introduction (LOI) form V39A from a local contact in Singapore
  • two passport-sized color photographs taken within the last 3 months.
  • a confirmed onward or return ticket
  • proof of sufficient funds for your stay
  • any other documents as required by the visa agent or the embassy

Singapore visa for UAE residents types

Foreign residents living in the UAE holding passports from countries not eligible for visa-free entry into Singapore can apply for two main types of Singapore visas:

Tourist visa

A Singapore tourist visa is a short-term pre-entry permission that allows travelers to travel to Singapore for leisure, sightseeing, social or family visits. It is a single-entry visa and is valid for a stay of up to 30 days in the country.

Documents required

The following are some of the Singapore tourist visa documents that must be provided to apply through a visa agent or the embassy:

  • a completed and signed visa application form 14A
  • two passport-size color photographs (white background and 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) taken within less than 3 months.
  • an original and copy of a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity
  • an original signed and stamped salary certificate from the employer. The letter must include the following details:
    • employee’s position and salary details.
    • the letter must be dated not older than a month and must have the company’s full contact details, including physical address and telephone, email/website). Find out the complete salary certificate requirements here.
  • a confirmed onward or return ticket
  • proof of accommodation
  • a Letter of Introduction (LOI) form V39A from a local contact in Singapore might be required for some travelers.

Fees

The visa fee for a Singapore tourist visa is AED 80 plus a service fee of AED 65.

Business visa

A Singapore business visa is a short-term pre-entry permission that allows travellers to travel to Singapore to attend business meetings, seminars, conferences or exhibitions. It is a single-entry visa and is valid for a stay of up to 30 days in the country.

Documents required

The following are some of the Singapore business visa documents that must be provided to apply through a visa agent or the embassy:

  • a completed and signed visa application form 14A
  • two passport-size color photographs (white background and 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) taken within less than 3 months
  • an original and copy of a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity
  • an original signed and stamped salary certificate from the employer. The letter must include the following details:
    • employee’s position and salary details
    • the letter must be dated not older than a month and must have the company’s full contact details, including physical address and telephone, email/website). Find out the complete salary certificate requirements here
  • a confirmed onward or return ticket
  • proof of accommodation
  • a colored copy of the invitation letter from the inviting company along with:
    • a colored copy of the Singapore registered business entity’s detailed business profile, showing the names of all the directors or shareholders from the Instant Information Service, Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)
    • on a case-to-case basis, the Consulate General of Singapore may need you to provide and print the latest ACRA within the last 3 months
    • if your application requires a Letter of Introduction (LOI – form V39A), the LOI must have the complete details of the inviting person (local contact in Singapore), including full name, NIRC number, Occupation, full address with postal code and telephone number.

Fees

The visa fee for a Saudi business visa is AED 80 plus a service fee of AED 65.

How to apply for a Singapore visa for UAE residents?

The Singapore embassy or consulate in the UAE does not process or accept visa applications. The applicants may, however, apply for a visa via one of the following ways:

  • through a local contact in Singapore that may apply for you at ICA’s e-service platform
