New Scooter’s Coffee location coming to Albertville community

On Thursday afternoon, Jenny and Michael Higdon of Higdon Coffee LLC announced a fifth Alabama Scooter’s Coffee location, which will be brought to Albertville. Michael, a born and raised Albertville graduate, has always dreamed of bringing a Scooter’s Coffee to the Albertville community.

“I was born and raised in Albertville,” Michael said, “and we’ve always dreamed of having a location here. We’re absolutely thrilled to see this vision finally come to life, and we’re deeply grateful for the incredible support from our community.”

“I was a part of the Class of 2001 at Albertville High School. My wife Jenny was born and raised in Boaz. We live in Guntersville now. I am in my 19th year with Allstate Insurance after taking over the family business from my father Dan Higdon. He started the business in 1979. I still have Allstate in Albertville and Guntersville with an amazing staff that welcomed the idea of me starting a second business,” Michael said.

Scooter’s Coffee was founded in 1998 by Don and Linda Eckles in Nebraska. With over 25 years of business, the key to Scooter’s Coffee’s success was based on four core values, which include Love, Humility, Integrity and Courage.

“My wife loves coffee and I learned of Scooter’s Coffee’s plans to expand and grow in Alabama. We investigated the brand and fell in love with its culture and values. We went to Chattanooga (the nearest location at the time) to try the products. We were hooked,” Michael said.

“After that, we found our perfect manager in Tim Finley that had many years of experience in the quick service food business. I’ve wanted to build in Albertville since day one but was unable to find a location. July will be three years since our first location opened in Boaz. Guntersville came shortly after in November 2022. Then Arab in 2023 and Attalla in 2024. We love this community and being able to bring Scooter’s Coffee’s amazing products to our area.”

The new Scooter’s Coffee location at 7529 US Hwy 431, Albertville is currently under construction and expected to open in summer 2025.
