Tesco patrons have been voicing their annoyance due to a scarcity of favoured tinned beans, which has led to bare shelves and online grievances.

The retail behemoth has acknowledged it is grappling with "temporary availability issues" affecting an array of its home-brand bean products, like butter beans, black beans, borlotti beans, and chickpeas.

The deficiency, thought to be rooted in supply chain troubles, has had a significant impact on customers, especially those who count on these key ingredients for daily cuisine.

Tesco maintains that the hiccup pertains to just a handful of their private-label goods and reassures that a resolution is imminent, but this hasn't stopped consumers from airing their frustrations on social media.

A One X (previously known as Twitter) user queried: "What's happening to your range of own brand tinned beans? Nothing is in stock and for the last few weeks?".

Another conveyed: "Why is no one talking about the fact there is a bean shortage in Tesco? I want my beans."

Individuals have noted specific problems at certain locations. A disgruntled shopper mentioned: "The Tilbury Calcutta Road shop is not being restocked, four days now, no chickpeas, no butter beans, no kidney beans."

Someone else reported: "Empty shelves for tinned chickpeas, black beans and cannellini beans in two different stores in the last week."

In spite of this dearth, Tesco's widely sought-after in-house brand baked beans in tomato sauce are still readily available, much to the delight of bean aficionados.

Addressing the issue, Tesco responded: "We are experiencing some temporary availability issues on a small number of our own-brand bean lines.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are working with our suppliers to resolve this as quickly as possible."
