No changes for Canada in Trump’s tariff pause today, Ottawa says; North American stock markets bounce back

The Canadian government belies no new tariffs were imposed on Canada today, and no changes were made to previously-announced levies, according to a spokesperson from the PMO’s office.

U.S President Donald Trump paused so-called “reciprocal” tariffs on dozens of countries today, which led to a surge in the stock markets. However, the Trump administration also boosted tariffs on Chinese, sparking further fears of a recession.
