More than £93,000 is being raised to fund improvements to a pavilion in west Oxfordshire.
The Hanborough Pavilion Improvement Project, led by the Hanborough Playing Field Association, aims to expand and refurbish the facility to meet increasing demand from the growing community.
So far, £5,938 has been pledged towards the £93,068 target through a Spacehive page.
The project plans to increase the size of the pavilion by 351 square metres, creating space for a café, an expanded bar, and a designated pre-school area.
The changing rooms will be relocated, two new kitchens will be added, and the number of parking spaces will be increased, with provisions for electric vehicles.
The pavilion will also feature gender-neutral bathrooms and a co-working space.
The planned improvements are in response to the growing population of Hanborough, which saw a 34 per cent increase in the decade up to 2021, with further growth expected from new housing developments.
The revamped pavilion is expected to broaden the range of activities on offer and provide modern, eco-friendly facilities open to the public all year round.
The space will also be available for community leaders such as Thames Valley Police, NHS England, local councillors, and Citizens Advice to host sessions, and will serve as a free library and food bank and host IT classes, as suggested by residents.
