WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Chipley man is behind bars and facing drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Washington County.

On May 12th, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies saw a red Ford tow truck with a car hooked on it in the ditch near Jackson Place Road. When deputies walked up to the vehicles, they realized they were abandoned.

Law enforcement then saw 65-year-old Terry Gene Gilbert driving a bulldozer down the road. They said Gilbert, who does not possess a valid driver’s license, was taken into custody.

Following a search, deputies said they found a baggie containing a crystallized substance that later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

The sheriff’s office said Gilbert was already on county probation for being a habitual traffic offender and was charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving while license suspended or revoked, and violation of probation.
