OF KENDRA SCOTT IS OPENING THE THREE-WAY SHOPPING CENTER IN WINSTON-SALEM THIS WEEKEND, AND THE JEWELRY STORE IS CELEBRATING THROUGH PHILANTHROPY. ONE ORGANIZATION BENEFITING IS CALLED SHINING THROUGH THE STORM, HELPING WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA. AND THIS MORNING, WE’RE HEARING FROM THE FOUNDER OF THAT GROUP WHO’S DESIGNING CUSTOM PIECES THAT YOU CAN GET TO SUPPORT THIS MISSION, DROP STONES IN IT AND KIND OF SEE, YOU GET TO COME IN AND PICK YOUR STYLE. THAT’S PRETTY THAT’S A GOOD OPTION. PICK YOUR METAL COLOR. AND THEN WE HAVE MULTIPLE DIFFERENT STONE OPTIONS TO PICK FROM. I LOVE THAT COLOR. ALMOST LOVE THIS ONE MORE. SO YOU REALLY CAN BE THAT DESIGNER. I THINK I LIKE THAT THAT’S THE EXPERIENCE ANY CUSTOMER CAN GET AT KENDRA SCOTT’S COLOR BAR. THAT IS SO PRETTY. THAT’S LOVE IT. BUT IT IS SPECIAL FOR RIHANNA BECAUSE THIS NECKLACE AND BRACELET NOW REPRESENT HER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, SHINING THROUGH THE STORM, AND ITS WORK TO HELP WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA RECOVER AFTER HURRICANE HELENE. BEING ABLE TO DO THIS AND BRIDGE THAT GAP HAS MEANT EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD. FOUNDED AS A PART OF HER PAGEANT PLATFORM FOR UNIVERSE UNITED, MISS NORTH CAROLINA, THE ORGANIZATION QUICKLY GREW, PROVIDED HUNDREDS OF PROM DRESSES TO HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS IMPACTED BY HELENE. AND EACH WEEK SHE TAKES SUPPLIES UP TO THE BLESSING PROJECT TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO THOSE IN NEED. IN SWANNANOA. EVERYBODY STILL WANTS TO HELP, THEY JUST DON’T KNOW HOW. SO THIS PARTNERSHIP IS PERFECT FOR A PAGEANT QUEEN TURNED NONPROFIT. HAVING A COMPANY THAT AS LITTLE GIRL I USED TO ADMIRE WALKING IN THEIR STORE AND ADMIRING THE BEAUTIFUL JEWELRY AND EVERYTHING. NOW I GET TO ADMIRE THEIR BEAUTIFUL HEART FOR WANTING TO GIVE BACK, LIKE I STRIVE TO DO WITH SHINING THROUGH THE STORM. AND KENDRA SCOTT SAYS THE COLLABORATION FITS IN PERFECTLY WITH ITS FOUNDING PILLARS. GIVING BACK IS THE TRUEST FORM OF SUCCESS WITH OUR BRANDS, AND WHEN YOU WEAR IT, YOU CAN REMEMBER WHY YOU BOUGHT THAT AND KENDRA SCOTT’S GRAND OPENING EVENTS IN WINSTON-SALEM RUN ALL THIS WEEKEND. BUT JUST FROM 5 TO 7 P.M. TOMORROW, FRIDAY, 20% OF ALL SALES WILL BE DONATED TO SHINING THROUGH THE STORM. NOT JUST FOR THAT NECKLACE AND BRACELET DESIGN, THOUGH. YOU CAN ALSO BUY ONLINE AND JUST PUT IN THE CODE. GIVE BACK SHINING TO SEND THE PROCEEDS OF YOUR JEWELRY TO THE NONPROFIT AS WELL. THAT’S IF YOU’RE NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT OUT TONIGHT, BUT TOMORROW. GREAT EVENT. YEAH, THE EVENTS AGAIN GOING ON ALL THIS WEEKEND. THE KENDRA SCOTT LOCATION THERE IN THRUWAY. BUT 5 TO 7 THEY HAVE LIKE LIVE GIVEAWAYS AND MUSIC AND DIFFERENT LIKE THINGS GOING ON. SO IT SOUNDS LIKE A REALLY FUN TIME. AND I’M ALSO WEARING THE JEWELRY THAT THEY DESIGNED THIS MORNING TO GET TO SHOW IT OFF. AND IT’S IT IS REALLY NICE. BRACELET IS. STRETCHY IN CASE SOME LADIES LIKE THEM. IT GOES WELL WITH THE STACK IS WHAT THE GIRLS OF THE STORE WERE TELLING ME. SO THE STACK, THE STACK OF. YEAH, ALWAYS A STACK. YEAH. SHE IS SO INSPIRING THOUGH. I’M SO GLAD THAT YOU’VE BEEN ABLE TO SHOWCASE WHAT SHE HAS DONE, BECAUSE IT’S ALREADY MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE AND IT’S JUST GOING TO BE A DOMINO EFFECT. YEAH, YEAH. SO AN AWESOME MISSION. AND OF COURSE YOU CAN SUPPORT THEM IN, IN THIS VER

800,000 school buses worth of Helene debris removed from Western North Carolina waterways
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its contractors have removed six million cubic yards of Hurricane Helene debris from waterways in Western North Carolina. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said it’s enough to fill 800,000 school buses with debris. They said that’s enough to stretch over 5,300 miles or about the distance from New York to Tokyo. Engineers and contractors are also hard at work in the Morse Park area, where they’re still collecting and staging silt debris removal from the West end of Lake Lure. They’re working 12-hour days, seven days a week, to continue to remove debris while restoring waterways. Nearly 100 dump trucks are hauling material daily, according to an update from the Town of Lake Lure.Subscribe to WXII's free YouTube channel hereCheck out the debris removal process here.
