Previewing Roman Bravo-Young's Tournament In Mongolia

Roman Bravo-Young will wrestle at the Mongolian Ranking Series tournament in a deep 57 kg bracket. The tournament will begin late on May 31st at 10:30 pm (ET) and conclude on the morning of June 1st. You can watch this match live on FloWrestling, and see the article below for RBY’s draw and a breakdown of his potential competition.

57 kg Bracket

RBY vs World #2 Aman Sehrawat

Bravo-Young’s opening round match will be against Türkiye’s Bekir Keser. While Keser recently won a bronze medal at the U23 European Championships, Bravo-Young should be considered a big favorite in this matchup.

If RBY wins his quarterfinal bout, he will likely wrestle India’s Aman Sehrawat in the semifinals. Sehrawat won a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games, where he impressively defeated world champion Zelimkhan Abakarov and NCAA champion Darian Cruz. Sehrawat wrestles a high-pace, physical style, and will be an incredible test for Bravo-Young. RBY has made notable gains in his freestyle game over the past year, and his match against Aman Sehrawat will be the perfect test to show where RBY stacks up against the best in the world at 57 kg.

#7 Pavlov Or #19 Batkhuyag For Gold

Aman Sehrawat is the most accomplished wrestler in the bracket, but that doesn’t mean things will get easy for RBY if he gets past Aman. #7 Lev Pavlov (RUS) and #19 Munkh Erdene Batkhuyag (MGL) sit on the other side of the bracket and are the most likely to make it to the finals. Pavlov is one of Russia’s best 57 kg wrestlers and placed second at the 2025 Yarygin and second at the 2024 Russian Nationals. Beyond that, Pavlov won a silver medal at the 2024 U20 World Championships, where he lost only to Luke Lilledahl. Mongolia’s Batkhuyag is also a solid contender and has several notable wins on the senior level over the past two years.

Lilledahl's win over Lev Pavlov in the 2024 U20 World Finals:

null
