Chase International appointed US travel retail distributor for Starr Rum

Chase International has been appointed as the distribution partner for Mauritian craft rum brand Starr Rum in the US travel retail market.

Starr is a single estate blend of aged rums. After ageing, Starr uses proprietary charcoal filtration methods to create a smooth, clean and clear finish. Starr is made in Mauritius from natural ingredients and can be enjoyed on the rocks or in cocktails.

The brand was one of the first companies to adopt the African Union’s NEPAD Initiative (New Economic Partners for African Development). Starr said it is committed to making and selling the best rum in the world while preserving the pristine island environment, utilising energy from the sugar extraction to power the distillery sustainably.

Starr’s red bottle was inspired by the distinct shape of the volcano at the edge of the Starr Estate. Starr Ultra-Superior Light Rum is available in 750ml and retails for around US$34. Starr Oak Aged 7 Year Old Rum (750ml), available in very limited quantities, is priced around US$45.
