Cyclist sustains ‘life-threatening injuries’ when hit by car outside Dernancourt Shopping Centre

A CYCLIST has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being knocked from their bike outside a shopping centre in Adelaide’s northeast.

Paramedics were called to the crash outside the Dernancourt Shopping Centre on Lower North East Rd about 12.45pm Sunday.

The cyclist, believed to be an adult male, sustained head injuries and has been taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with what police say are life-threatening injuries.

The crash has caused significant delays along Lower North East Rd.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible.
